Loosen Your Wrists

in Exercise

After a long stretch of typing and mousing, your wrists can get stiff and achy. This exercise from a dance teacher and movement expert can help you get your wrists flexible and pain-free again.

  1. Tuck your elbows in at your side (and keep them there throughout this exercise) and clasp your hands together, making a loose double fist.
  2. Concentrate on the spot at the base of your thumbs where they press together and trace figure eights in the air with that spot.
  3. Switch your grip, shifting the interlacing by one finger, and repeat.
  4. Now shift your concentration to the place at the base of your little fingers where they meet and again draw figure eights with your hands.
  5. Switch your grip again (back to your original overlapping grip) and again draw figure eights with your focus on the place at the base of your little fingers where they meet.

Repeat as need throughout the day whenever your wrists need a break.

We’ll shoot a video that will more clearly show this exercise soon.
